Aerial yoga must be approached with care. The key contraindications of aerial yoga include glaucoma, heart disease, propensity to vertigo, very high or low blood pressure, recent concussion, head injury, herniated discs, osteoporosis, sinusitis, recent experience of a stroke and epilepsy.
It is also advised against for pregnant women, although this depends a little on length of experience with aerial; how affiliated the body already is with the discipline. Botox injections in the past 24 hours can also be problematic. It is advised that anyone experiencing these conditions should avoid aerial yoga unless specifically condoned by a doctor.
It is advised to practice aerial yoga on an empty stomach.
